Dan Boyle – Father, Marine, Community Leader
Daniel Boyle is a resident of Newtown, PA where lives with his wife, Lisa and 7 children. His children attend Newtown Elementary and Newtown Middle School, including his 9 year old Gavin, who has Down Syndrome and is part of the amazing special needs community in the Council Rock School District.
Dan was raised in Pittsburgh, PA, the 6th of 12 children. He came to Philadelphia to attend Temple University on a baseball scholarship, where he studied business. There he met his wife, Lisa (Jakubowicz), a basketball star at Temple and resident of Bucks County. The terror attacks of 9/11 occurred during his time at Temple, which motivated Dan to join the Marine Corps upon graduation. Dan was an officer in the Marine Corps for 8 years and deployed multiple times to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He also spent time as an instructor at a school that trains Marine Officers in Quantico, VA.
Dan left the Marine Corps with his family in 2011 to take a job working at an investment bank. They decided to move to Newtown because they were drawn to the peaceful, family friendly environment, top notch public schools with best in class special needs professionals, and an environment where they can raise their family safely for many decades to come.
Dan and his family attend St. Andrew’s church each week. He is a member of the American Legion in Newtown, PA and supports both the Bucks County Special Olympics program as well as the Travis Manion Foundation.
